'Meet The Girls!'

Our new website is sooo close to being complete, which means an organized portfolio of our work, comprehensive information about our services, AND I can have my life back! We are not web designers, but we are stubborn as hell. Hence why we do everything ourselves.

Sometimes it's a curse, but in the end I think the website will rock. Here's a little video I edited from an impromptu shoot we did this past weekend to help us launch this holiday season! It's for the 'Meet The Girls' page on our site.

We ain't videographers, and it's a little mad watching a crazy baby run around while shooting and working on a hundred things at once and trying to get it all done before the sun goes down...but I still kinda like it. It's fun learning new things and the sort of "home-video" style of it is true to Darling and Daisy.

Whatch'ya think?

Ellia Turns One

A artistic and well decorated party is a beautiful thing, but honestly, the only that really matters at any celebration is sharing love with friends and family. That's all. I made this little video to capture the day and to remind her (when she's a bratty teen who thinks we are all uncool and old) that her family loves her from the depth of our hearts.

She inspires me more that I could have ever expected. It's sometimes hard to believe that someone so small could have so much of my heart.
Note: I am a total amateur at this...no idea what I am doing, but it's FUN!

Our theme was "She's a Gem," and trust me...that she is.

A Pretty High Tea Bridal Shower Buffet - Preview

http://www.wedluxe.com/index.cfm?pagepath&id=6997&modeX=BlogID&modeXval=12944&BlogID=12944&action=showcomments&title=A-Tea-Party-Bridal-Shower

Well this one sure was fun.  Although baking and I have a love/hate relationship, I can't deny how calming and feminine it makes me feel. Jenn is a beautiful (and the most organized EVER) bride to be who wanted everything to be perfect for her high tea theme bridal shower. She asked me to do a dessert buffet with tons of homemade sweets and an original design concept.

Although I am happy to show off my love of extreme girly-ness, my most my favorite part of this buffet was incorporating some of my beloved Italian desserts, and a simple homemade backdrop.

Exciting Re-brands and Lovestruck 2014 launch!

It's going down folks,  Lovestruck 2014 is happening on Sunday March 30th.  Next year are taking our sassy little show to a whole new level with Toronto's only theatrical Faux-Wedding. What in heaven is a "Faux-Wedding?" Glad you asked, my dear. Read a little about it at www.lovestruckexpo.com, where our brand new site by Ashley and Malone will soon go live.

Ashley and Malone are a crazy fantastic couple-a love birds who also happen to be our web design and branding sponsors. I am really loving the branding they have created for us and can't wait for the website to be up so I can show it off!
Speaking of websites, Darling and Daisy is in the middle of a little re-brand of our own. Natalie and I are working some what I think is a magical little display of our creations and services. Our website will be launching soon and I am giddy as a nerdy school girl! Here's a little sneak peak of the homepage.

More updates coming soon!

Kissed by Cupid Styled Dessert Buffet

Our Kissed by Cupid Styled Dessert Buffet was inspired by our love of gold, romance and delicious treats. Everything from our love struck backdrop details, homemade sweets, and birch display accents were DIY creations. From gilded Oreos and feathers, to ethereal handmade wings, this buffet is our interpretation of a one of a kind Valentine’s Day celebration.

Our bride was adorned with a dreamy floral halo, dainty gold jewels, a vintage fur shall and ruffled skirt for the occasion. The soft florals and pink ombre cake added a hint of Valentine’s romance.
For this shoot we also wanted to incorporate the wintery feel of a crisp, snow filled Valentine’s Day. The faux fur shawl and birch display stands add a little warmth and charm.

Overall we wanted to capture the magic and romance of being love struck this Valentine’s Day.

Check us out featured on Ruffled Blog and a DIY tutorial on how to make our lovely homemade gold wings.

kitschy & delicious wedding sweet buffets

When Crystal {Distinct Occasion's} first sent us inspiration for Rachael & Joey's vintage inspired candy land wedding, we were swooning. Rachael is a lover of vintage furniture, kitsch and whimsical design. She wanted her dessert buffets to be a spectacular surprise for her guests, and that they were. We snuck into the foyer while guests were enjoying the reception and staged 3 epic dessert tables.

Everything was baked by us from scratch with love, using grandmas homemade pie crust for 200 delectable mini pies and pie pops, gorgeous pastel macaroons, cake truffles, donuts, and tons of other yummy goodness for their 400 guests.  We made colourful banners and dyed doilies to match the treats as a finishing touch.

My personal favorite moment from this day was the gorgeous Rachael's reaction when she saw all our hard work at her dream wedding!

The lovely day was captured by Renaissance Studios and featured in February's Special Edition Wedding Bells Magazine.
